A simple yet whimsical Ancaster Mill wedding if there ever was one, the wedding decor seen in this design proves
that a bride and groom do not have to go big and bold to get the feel of the day down and to make their special day
memorable.
This Ancaster wedding had a tone set by a gold and white palette with complimentary pink filtered sporadically
throughout.
Keeping in mind these colors, there was not a whole lot to do from a decor standpoint other than to support what
was already in the room. Having worked with Ancaster Mill dozens of times before, the venue has always been
cooperative with allowing us to deliver the right wedding decor for the marrying couple.
Digging through the type of wedding decor used for this Ancaster, Ontario wedding, the couple opted for a free-
flowing, open backdrop. Classic drapery helped to add some prestige to the reception stage. The polished gold
candelabra was also a necessary touch to bring the table setting together and add a romantic flourish.
What this decor design did was not distract. The focus entirely was on the bride and groom, just as they planned. It
can be difficult to not distract and it’s easy to overdo wedding decor, adding so much that it’s overwhelming.
The wedding ceremony and reception proved to be a magical day and evening for all involved. Towards the end of
the evening, we were sure to check in with the marrying couple to make sure everything was tailored to their liking.
We were so pleased to hear of their positive review and to confirm that there was nothing left undone or unfulfilled
by their standard. They wanted a magical wedding and one that was suitable to their wants and needs, and that’s

wedding themes, it’s really up to the marrying couple to decide for themselves what’s best and what’s preferable.
The framing fireplace mantle was also key to building up the colors, feel, and atmosphere of the wedding.
